How the SafetyWrap was born

The SafetyWrap is based upon the use of the dustbin liner, which runners use pre-race, to keep warm and dry, before discarding it when the run starts. I have developed and obtained Design Registration (Patented) what is pretty much, a dustbin liner, but made from silver or gold space blanket material. Many mass participation runs and other events, now issue a foil blanket, to help reduce the effects of body heat loss. Whilst the standard space blanket is a good idea for health and safety reasons, the problem is that it is a very impractical piece of kit. It is almost impossible to wrap an emergency foil blanket around the body and keep it there, certainly not without having to use two hands. At best, it covers the shoulders. Furthermore, it is not easy to also cover the head, as well as the body and the head is the area from where the majority of body heat is lost. The SafetyWrap addresses all these issues and the end result is a wearable garment, which is highly ecomonical and effective at retaining body heat.
